October is Principals Month! 🍎 To celebrate, we asked the leadership team at Vinland Elementary to bring something special for show and tell. Principal Smith and Assistant Principal Krantz each share what they brought and the story behind it.

Thank you to our principals for all they do for our students, families, and staff. Check back throughout the month to see what our other principals brought!

👹🍬 OUR MONSTER IS HUNGRY, VINLAND FAMILIES! 🍬👹
Our furry friend is gearing up for Boo Around the School, and he has a BIG appetite! 😋 His favorite food? CANDY, of course!
Here’s the scary part (don’t worry, he’s friendly!) it takes approximately 15,000 PIECES OF CANDY to make sure all our students have a spooktacular trick-or-treat experience! 🎃🍭
That’s a LOT of treats!
🍬 Please help us feed our monster! We’re asking families to donate candy by Thursday, October 29 so we can make Boo Around the School a sweet success for everyone.
Every bag helps fill his belly and bring smiles to our students! 💚
📣 Spread the word, raid those candy aisles, and help us keep our monster from eating the school supplies! 👀😂
THANK YOU, VINLAND FAMILIES! Together, we can make this a fang-tastic day! 🦇🎃💜

A reminder that there will be no school on Monday, October 12, in recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is an opportunity to recognize and learn about the histories, cultures, contributions, and contemporary experiences of Indigenous peoples, including our local Sovereign Nations, the Suquamish Tribe and Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe.

We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday, October 13.

10/13/2026

Today we recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Here in North Kitsap, we live, learn, and work alongside two Sovereign Nations, the Suquamish Tribe and Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe.

Today is an opportunity to honor the histories, cultures, contributions, and enduring presence of Indigenous peoples, while also learning about the vibrant cultures, leadership, and communities of Indigenous peoples today.

We encourage our community to learn directly from our local Sovereign Nations and deepen our understanding of the people and histories connected to the place we call home.

Families, IT’S RACETIME! 🏎️💨

Our Impact Aid survey is underway, and every family matters! Please take about 5 minutes to complete the survey as soon as you can. The more surveys our families complete, the farther our school car moves on the Impact Aid scoreboard!

👉 Check out the scoreboard and cheer us on!

🚦 Here’s what you need to know:

Complete ONE survey for each student.

The survey is found in Skyward/Family Access.
https://trst.in/Zodd3m

Please complete it on a computer. It is not available through the mobile app.
It takes about 5 minutes.

Every survey counts the same!

Even if your family has no federal connection, please complete the survey. A “NO” answer moves our school’s car forward exactly as far as a “YES” answer!

So please take a few minutes, complete your student’s survey, and help Vinland move that car down the track! 🏁🐬

The finish line is waiting, and every family can help us get there!
