Was a joy to stand with the Kitsap YWCA last Friday evening and share in their celebration of women survivors of domestic abuse, and see families flourish when given the shelter and support!

Mayor Ed Stern proclaims October 2026 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, recognizing the importance of raising awareness, supporting survivors, and promoting efforts to prevent domestic violence.

We encourage our community to stand together to break the silence, support those impacted by domestic violence, and work toward a future where everyone can live free from abuse and fear.

Proud to be attending along with 300 of my favorite Kitsap County friends in supporting Olympic College’s annual Foundation Lunch - - dedicated this year to the Allied Health Center initiative, here pictured the 2026 - 2027 first cohort of EMT students, our future life savers when we make that 911 call in the middle of the night.

Please consider giving to the Olympic College Foundation to provide the student financial aid to see them graduate!

And special ‘shout out’ to Kitsap County Commissioner Katie Walters who led the charge on the initial $6 million outlay from county gov’t 2 years ago to stand up the remodel of OC Poulsbo to accommodate the vision 👏👏👏

Tremendous 🎥 film festival 🎥 in Poulsbo spearheaded by Kevin & Bittina Sheen - - 3 days and evenings of 12 categories of juried film submittals, the last featured this Sunday evening the documentary ‘Reservation Redemption ’ which I am sure will find its way onto PBS national viewing on the P.O.V. programming.

Awards ceremony after at Poulsbo’s Rainy Daze brew pub, thank you to them and Poulsbo’s Regal Cinemas helping sponsor for the community large-screen viewing all weekend !👏👏👏

Early 1980’s Poulsbo, nearing the completion of the Waterfront Park Pavilion he designed and built - - just one of literally dozens of projects he undertook over the last 50 years here - - Bill mounted the cupola top and in ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ style was on top of his adopted town, earning perhaps the sobriquet ‘Billsbo’ for our town, as Mr. Poulsbo.
