Pixie didn’t up right today. Missed the picture of the burger and onion rings but they were good too. Local business for the win!

Sadly this was the picnic table at the kayak launch past Old Mill Village. If anyone has information as to who did this, please contact the Pound Police Department at 286-796-5747.

This is why we can’t have anything nice.

We are in the process of obtaining food for free distribution from the FarmLink Project. We will have approximately 24 hours notice when food is delivered. The Agricultural Center on the Wise/Dickenson County line on Red Onion Mountain will be the drop/distribution point for the food. Some of the food will be provided to area food banks for distribution as well.

The food is overage from suppliers (farms, etc) that have an overrun and to keep the food from going to waste, it is distributed at no cost. Please check back to make sure you know when food is coming since the notice is so short.

As additional information becomes available we will make sure to post and get that out.

FYI

Update: We do not have any additional information at the town level. You will need to reach out to PSA with any questions.

Town of Pound Water Customers:

Water service may be interrupted beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, while the water system is connected to the new 350,000-gallon water storage tank.

Please prepare for an extended outage. The duration will depend on field conditions and how quickly the connection can be completed and the system returned to normal operation.

What you should do
• Store drinking water in clean, covered containers before 3:30 p.m.
• Avoid starting laundry, dishwashing, or other high-use activities after work begins.
• Check faucets after service is restored. Water may be discolored or cloudy at first; run cold water until it clears.

This work is necessary to place the new storage tank in service and improve reliability of the Town of Pound water system.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. If you have questions or experience a problem after service is restored, please contact our office.
