Congratulations to Stefanie Lewis who completed her Master Hiker designation at Powhatan State Park!

Here is what she said about her journey:

"My trail quest journey started in 2014 at Fairy Stone State Park for a girl’s weekend with my Virginia Tech buddies. In April 2024, I decided to visit all the parks and set a goal to complete in 1 year. I was on tract until Hurricane Helene came through in 2024 and my trip to visit the southwest Virginia parks was cancelled. The quest was completed in 2025 when I visited 7 southwest Virginia parks in 5 days, ending at Grayson Highlands State Park!

Some of my favorite park memories include watching trains come through at Natural Tunnel State Park, kayaking and horseback riding at Fairy Stone State Park, our girls weekend in a lodge at Claytor Lake State Park, Wednesday Walk Club at Powhatan State Park and seeing my first black bear in the wild at Grayson Highlands State Park."
