343 firefighters went to work on the morning of September 11, 2001, never knowing they wouldn’t be coming home.

Today, 25 years later, members of the Preble Fire Department were proud to take part in the 9/11 Memorial hosted by the Homer Fire Department, standing alongside fellow first responders and our community to honor the 2,977 lives lost that day and every first responder who answered the call without hesitation.

We will never forget.

🔥🚗 TONIGHT’S TRAINING: BAD DAY TO BE A CAR

Tonight the Preble Fire Department gathered for another highly sophisticated training exercise…

vehicle fires are no joke, and tonight gave our crew some great hands-on practice with hose lines, fire attack, and team work.

Another successful training in the books and another car that definitely won’t be passing inspection.

** always looking for donated vehicles we can practice on so we are ready for the real thing!

🚒 Training Night: vehicle extrication

Tonight, members of the Preble Fire Department spent the evening training on vehicle extrication techniques. Crews reviewed vehicle stabilization, glass management, hydraulic tool operations, and patient access, working together to safely remove simulated victims from a damaged vehicle.

Every hour spent training builds confidence, sharpens skills, and prepares us for the day someone in our community needs us most.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and put in the work. Training never stops because emergencies don’t wait.

Train Hard. Stay Ready. Serve Proud.

🇺🇸🎆 HAPPY 4TH OF JULY, PREBLE! 🎆🇺🇸

Today is all about FREEDOM, questionable grilling, cold drinks, and someone’s uncle setting off a firework that was definitely purchased legally. 🦅💥

A few friendly reminders from your local fire department:

🔥 If you say “watch this” -reconsider.
🎆 If the firework says “stand back 200 feet” - that does not mean hold it.
🍺 B**r is not PPE.
🚗 Designate a driver.
🖐️✋You came into the holiday with 10 fingers. Let’s keep it that way.

Have fun. Be safe. Make good decisions.

A huge thank you to our military, veterans, and fellow first responders who keep this country and our communities going. ❤️🤍💙

Members of the Preble Fire Department conducted pump operations training at Little York Park. While the pump operator may not always be the most visible position on the fireground, it is one of the most important.

The operator is responsible for ensuring firefighters have a constant and reliable water supply, maintaining proper pressures, and supporting operations from start to finish.

Training like this helps keep our skills sharp and ensures we’re ready to provide the best service possible when the call comes in.

As always, we’re proud of the commitment our members show to training and serving the community. 🚒
