Meet Miss Kat!

Miss Kat is La Tierra’s Kindergarten teacher! She’s kicking off her 5th year of teaching and couldn’t be more excited to inspire and guide her young students. Outside the classroom, Miss Kat enjoys getting lost in a good book, exploring nature, riding her bike, and cooking up tasty meals with her fiancé, Thurman. 🚴‍♀️📖She’s also the proud human of two furry companions—Monkey the cat and Birdie the puppy—who keep life full of fun, love, and a little bit of mischief! 🐈‍⬛🐕 Miss Kat is excited for another year of love, learning, and adventure with her kindergarten class.

🕊️💙 Celebrated Peace on Our Campus! 💙🕊️

Last Thursday, we came together during Morning Circle to celebrate the International Day of Peace Day and reflect on what peace means to each of us. We were so grateful to have members of Prescott Peacebuilders join us and lead us in a beautiful song. 🎶

Our students also shared their thoughtful peace poems, with some students having the opportunity to share their words again on Monday at the Square during the International Day of Peace event. 🕊️✨

In Art, students created colorful peace pinwheels, which we proudly displayed throughout our campus as a reminder that small acts of peace can make a big difference. 💙🌎

What a beautiful way to celebrate peace, kindness, and the voices of our students! 🕊️

🔉 The sounds of 7th Grade

In Science, students plotted the coordinates of known earthquakes and volcanoes along the Ring of Fire, while listening to The Ring of Fire of course. 🔥

In Math, students played different versions of the card game War while practicing adding, subtracting , multiplying, and dividing positive and negative integers… and they definitely got into it! ♣️♦️

A pretty good glimpse into what learning sounds like in 7th grade 🌋

A little piece of our past, brought into our new home. 💛
Our students and staff each created a feather in Art class to become part of this special Quetzalcóatl piece now hanging in our new campus. For many in our community, this is a familiar symbol from La Tierra’s past, making this project a meaningful way to honor where we’ve been while bringing a piece of that history with us into this new chapter.

We love seeing our old and new stories come together in one place. ✨
