👤 WHO IS JAMES TALARICO?

James Talarico is an eighth-generation Texan, former public school teacher, Presbyterian seminarian, and Texas state representative.

Before entering public office, he taught middle school in San Antonio. He was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2018.

🏛️ WHAT DOES A U.S. SENATOR DO?

Texas elects two U.S. senators, each serving a six-year term. Senators help shape federal laws, vote on presidential appointments, and make decisions affecting communities across the country.

📋 WHAT ARE HIS CAMPAIGN PRIORITIES?

Talarico’s campaign identifies several priorities, including:

🏫 Strengthening public education

🏥 Improving healthcare affordability and access

💵 Addressing the cost of living for working families

⚖️ Reducing corruption and the influence of wealthy political donors

🗳️ Election season is getting REAL in Presidio County!

Spent part of today at the courthouse as preparations continue for the November 3 General Election. Voting equipment testing is underway, preparations are being made, and before we know it, voters will be heading to the polls!

As Presidio County Democratic Chair, I’m excited to see our community get engaged, make a plan, and USE YOUR VOICE. 💙🇺🇸

FROM PRESIDIO TO WASHINGTON 🇺🇸
Rep. Eddie Morales Advocates for the Presidio–Ojinaga Cattle Trade Corridor

This is exactly the kind of follow-through I want to see from our elected representatives. Representative Eddie Morales came to Presidio, listened to the concerns of people in our community, and then took those concerns beyond the meeting room by putting them in writing and advocating for action.

To me, this is a textbook example of constituent service: show up, listen, understand the issues, and then use the position you were elected to hold to advocate for the people you represent.

Too often, important community conversations get pulled into one divisive issue or another, while other matters affecting our families, ranchers, businesses, jobs, and local economy get pushed aside. We should be able to disagree about issues without turning neighbor against neighbor or allowing politics to overshadow the very real needs of our community.

This letter demonstrates what productive leadership can look like—taking a concern raised by constituents and carrying it forward to the appropriate level of government. Regardless of political party, this is the kind of responsiveness and professionalism I believe we should expect from everyone we elect to represent us.
