Priceville Volunteer Fire Department We are a volunteer fire department located in Priceville, Alabama with about 25 firefighters. We respect the hard work our founders put forth.

This is the Priceville Volunteer Fire Department located outside of Decatur, AL. We are a department of 30+ dedicated individuals who respond to over 1000 calls per year. We welcome you to look at our site and see what we have going on in our community. Please come back frequently as we update the information and calendars often. The Priceville Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1973 by a handful of dedicated visionaries. They were donated an old military truck and scavenged the remaining materials to make themselves the department’s first fire truck. It had a home-made steel tank, a small pump, and a few hundred feet of hose. A lot has changed since the day those men started protecting the community. Today, the Priceville Volunteer Fire Department has grown to have over 35 members, three stations, and numerous high-tech trucks and equipment. The demands of the fire service have also changed over the years with the evolving societies and technologies. In turn, this requires our team to more highly trained and flexible to respond to such emergencies.

This will increase the traffic through Priceville for the next couple days. Prepare for delays.

ALDOT will close I-65 northbound at Exit 318 at Lacon in Morgan County on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 29, to repair the deck of the northbound interstate bridge over Flint Creek.

Weather permitting, ALDOT plans to close the northbound roadway about 6 p.m. All northbound I-65 traffic will detour to US-31 northbound at Exit 318 and then north to SR-67 southbound. Traffic can return to the interstate via Exit 334 in Priceville.

A temporary signal at the junction of US-31 and the northbound off-ramp will regulate traffic.

The closure will remain in place overnight. Following completion of the repair and sufficient curing of the new concrete, ALDOT will reopen the road as early as possible on Friday, Oct. 30.

Trucks and wide loads:

Commercial traffic will be required to use the signed detour to SR-67.

Wide loads must detour at Exit 310 in Cullman and take SR-157 northbound to SR-24 eastbound in Moulton and then SR-67 northbound to SR-20 eastbound in Decatur.

Message boards and signs will direct motorists. State troopers will assist with traffic control.

For real-time traffic and road condition information, visit ALGOtraffic.com or download the ALGO Traffic app.

Upcoming replacement:

Plans for replacement of the two sets of I-65 bridges over Flint Creek and the CSX railroad, immediately north of the creek, continue to progress. ALDOT currently anticipates letting the project in late FY2027.

Again, it was our mistake and we apologize for any confusion created. Here is the link to order a butt or butt by the pound: https://boston-butt.pricevillefire.com/

And remember, do NOT call 911 if your power simply goes out. Call the power company instead.

If you lived on the Alabama coast at the moment, would you be prepared for the upcoming hurricane? What would you need?
