Our 5th graders put their science and coding skills to work as they used Ari Ozobots to create and code their own food chains!
Students first applied their understanding of producers, consumers, and the flow of energy within an ecosystem to design their food chains. Then, they brought those food chains to life by using color codes to program their Ozobots to travel from one organism to the next.
Along the way, students had to think critically, plan their routes, troubleshoot when their Ozobot didnβt do exactly what they expected, and make adjustments to their code. They werenβt just learning about food chainsβthey were engineering a way to demonstrate their understanding!
