When a call, text, or email feels urgent, secret, or confusing, a calm family plan can make all the difference.
Remember these four simple checks:

Slow it down. No legitimate request needs an instant answer.
Keep it private. Never share passwords, PINs, or one-time codes.

Check independently. Use a saved, trusted number instead of a link or number in a surprise message.

Speak up early. Save the message and talk to someone you trust.
A quick pause can protect your loved one’s independence, confidence, and peace of mind.

Scams often feel urgent, secret, or confusing. That is exactly why a simple family safety plan can help.

Pause before responding.
Protect passwords, PINs, and one time codes.
Verify unexpected requests using a trusted phone number.

A surprise request does not need an immediate answer. When something feels off, encourage your loved one to talk to someone they trust.
Save this post as a simple reminder for your family.

Scams often rely on the same tactics: they feel urgent, secret, or confusing.
A simple family plan can help an older loved one respond with confidence:
Pause. Do not rush.

Protect. Never share passwords, PINs, or account details unexpectedly.

Verify. Contact the organization or family member using a trusted phone number not the one in the message.
The most important reminder: there is no shame in asking for help. A quick conversation can help stop a suspicious request before it becomes a bigger problem.
