Remember those donations you helped us collect? 🩵

They’re now on their way to Cumberland West CP&P Local Office, where workers will distribute them to children and youth entering foster care in Cumberland County, New Jersey.

The office picked up 220 Welcome and Back-to-School Bags from us — so many that it took two trips! Each bag is filled with comfort items and essentials to help children and youth feel a little more comfortable during a time of transition.

We need your help in getting more bags into the hands of children and youth experiencing foster care in New Jersey 🎒🫶🏾

embrella was honored to attend the Book and Needle Woman's Club of Oradell NJ luncheon at Domani’s in Hillsdale! 🩵

We’re incredibly grateful to have been selected as the NJ State Federation of Women's Clubs of GFWC State Special Project for 2026–2028. We look forward to a meaningful two-year partnership and all that we can accomplish together in support of children, youth, and families across New Jersey.

Our Director of Community Engagement, Michele Rodriguez, also had the opportunity to share more about embrella’s work to embrace, support, and advocate for families across the state.

It was wonderful to spend the afternoon with such incredible women who truly are a “Force for Good.” We were also happy to be joined by the NJSFWC President and Director of Communications. Thank you for welcoming us!

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered with The Bag Project throughout August and September! 🎒🩵🦦

We truly couldn’t make these bags without you. Every bag takes time, thoughtfulness, and care, and we appreciate everyone who has helped make that possible.

Because of you, Welcome, Activity, and Back-to-School Bags are making their way into the hands of children and youth experiencing foster care in New Jersey who need a little extra comfort and support during times of transition.

Francisca, a Spanish-speaking foster parent, recently sat down with Diana Burgos, embrella Family Support Advocate, who Francisca can turn to for questions, guidance, and support throughout her caregiving journey 🩵

At this year’s Passport to Education (P2E) & Kinship (KinCon) Conferences, Francisca shared what it means to her to see Spanish-speaking families represented in the foster care community and at events like these.

During Hispanic Heritage Month and beyond, we’re grateful to highlight Francisca’s perspective and the importance of creating spaces where Spanish-speaking families can feel represented, connected, and supported.

We’re grateful to Doreen Yanik, Esq., Law Enforcement Initiative Director at Autism New Jersey, for stopping by and sharing Blue Envelopes with us! 💙🧩

Children and youth in foster care can have a wide range of developmental and support needs. Research shows that developmental delays are more common among children in foster care than among children who are not in foster care.

That’s why connections to organizations like Autism New Jersey are so important. Resources like the Blue Envelope Program can help individuals with autism and law enforcement communicate more clearly during traffic stops.

The Blue Envelope holds important driving documents and an emergency contact card, while also providing helpful information for both the individual and the officer.

We’re thankful to Doreen and Autism New Jersey for sharing this resource with us. We look forward to getting these Blue Envelopes into the hands of families who can benefit from them!
