Our Interact club at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South participated in the school club fair. This event is held before club activities officially begin. It is designed to give all students an opportunity to visit the tables to learn about the different club activities available. There were approximately 60 clubs featured.

Many of our current South Interactors were present, along with their faculty advisor, and two Princeton Corridor members, to answer questions and interact with the students. We are proud to be associated with these young people committed to service and thank them for their good work.

Our member, Jon Castaneda, gave his bio talk on 10/9. This is a way for the club to get to know newer members. They are free to talk about their background, where they grew up, their business and career paths, hobbies or anything else.

Jon re-joined our club after a few years away, so it was good to catch-up and reacquaint ourselves with Jon. He currently owns his own insurance agency after a long career in insurance and financial services. Welcome back to the club and we wish you success in your renewed Rotary journey.

At our meeting on October 2, our presenter was Francesca Gervasi. Fran is the current President of the Machestic Dragons Board of Trustees.

Their mission is to raise awareness of breast cancer and the benefits of dragon boat racing; to show and mentor others who are weakened by their struggles with breast cancer that there is life after this disease and support breast cancer survivors and the organizations that assist them.

She talked about the various ways they support breast cancer patients and their families. The group has formed a recreational Dragon Boat team and practice and compete with other similar organizations. Fran was kind enough to demonstrate proper paddling technique with the assistance of our member Mitushi.

One of our members, Mitushi Pitti, was selected as one of the artists included in a new exhibit at the West Windsor Arts Council.

The opening reception, held on September 25, was well attended with several club members on hand to honor and recognize Mitushi's accomplishment. The exhibit celebrates a folk tradition, but with a modern interpretation.

Our congratulations to Mitushi for her inclusion in this exhibit. We are proud to have her as a member and we look forward to her future successes.

The club came together at our meeting on 9/18 to assemble 200 snack bags for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). This project, lead by our member George Shenouda, continues our long-standing support of TASK.

The supplies were purchased by the club and with the help of our members, worked to create the snack bags, which will be distributed by TASK to the people they support.

Rotarians coming together to support the local community is what we do. If you are interested in joining us on an upcoming project, please reach out on our website at https://princetoncorridorrotary.org/

Our club once again helped sponsor the Dress for Success Power Walk and Wellness Festival held on 9/17. This was the second year we have participated in this event.

A bit of a rainy evening in Rosedale Park but many people came together, in good spirits, to help support a great cause.

This past Friday our speaker was the new President and CEO of the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce (PMRC), Laurence Saul. Mr. Saul is also the newest Honorary Member of our club.

Mr. Saul spoke about his journey in business which included working in leadership positions with very large companies as well as family run businesses. All of that experience lead him to the top role with the PMRC, one of the biggest chambers in New Jersey.

He also spoke about plans to insure the chamber stays in touch with the needs of its members and continue to support their businesses going forward. We wish him the best of luck in his new role.

It's back-to-school time so our club put together backpacks for St Bartholomew's Lutheran Church in Trenton NJ. Each year the church distributes 300+ backpacks to students in the local area. This will be our 4th year supporting their efforts. We contributed a total of 96 backpacks through the effort and generosity of our club members.

Our meeting on August 14 was graced by the presence of Dr. Lois Lee. Dr. Lee is a professional organist, accompanist, pianist and conductor. She attended Westminister Choir College and was also a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar through the Princeton Rotary.

Dr. Lee now works in Alabama but returned to visit and related her journey with Rotary. She is originally from Korea but developed and close relationship with her scholarship sponsors in the Princeton club. She credited the scholarship and related experiences with changing the course of her life.

Dr. Lee was also kind enough to play a few selections on the piano in the Hyatt. The video is part of that performance. Thanks to Dr. Lee for visiting and giving us a very unique luncheon experience.
