We are excited to share that Brenda Haywood has been selected as our Employee of the Month for September 2026.

Brenda joined our Living Options Department in August 2025, and since then she has made a meaningful impact on both staff and participants. One of her coworkers shared this wonderful nomination:

"I am nominating Brenda because she is willing to help when needed. She works so well with all our participants. She helped a participant straighten up all his books and made his apartment look so nice. She just brightens all the participants' lives and she is a joy to work with."

Brenda’s kindness, willingness to help, and genuine care for the people we support shine through in everything she does. She brings positivity into every space she enters, and we are grateful to have her as part of our team.

Today, we’re spotlighting some of the exceptional DSPs who help make our mission possible.

Brenda Haywood - In her year with The Arc Southwest Indiana, Brenda has formed strong, meaningful connections with the Participants she supports. She is caring, compassionate, and always willing to step in and help whenever she can.

Danni Tapley - Danni has been a fantastic addition to the Living Options Department. She builds strong connections with all our Participants and adapts easily to each personality, always finding the best in every situation.

Join us as we continue to celebrate the amazing DSPs who bring skill, heart, and unwavering support to our participants. Each day this week, we’re highlighting DSPs who go above and beyond—and today, we’re excited to recognize two DSPs who embody what exceptional support truly looks like.

Rocky Miskell has been a dedicated member of our agency for several years. He works well with all participants, consistently keeping their best interests at the forefront and building strong, positive rapport with everyone he supports. Rocky goes above and beyond to help individuals achieve their goals, demonstrates excellent attendance, and is always willing to step in wherever he is needed. His reliability and commitment make him an invaluable part of our team.

Christina Caskey is always willing to help wherever she can. She brings an upbeat, caring, and compassionate presence to her work each day. Christina works exceptionally well with our participants and has built strong, positive connections with those she supports. Her kindness and reliability make her a valued member of our team.

Today we celebrate Tasha, who has been in her role for 4 years at our Day Program in our Petersburg location. Tasha known for her dedication to learning participant care plans to ensure everyone is safe and well cared for. She brings creativity and fun to Day Services through engaging projects, skill building activities, and meaningful experiences. Tasha has built a wonderful rapport with participants, works well with her coworkers, and is a valuable member of the Day Service Team. We’re grateful for Tasha and all our amazing DSPs who make a difference every day. 💙

We are excited to announce that Arena Guzman has been selected as our Employee of the Month for August 2026!

Arena has worked as a Direct Support Professional in our Gibson Residential Department since January 2026, and in that time, she has truly stepped up and shown what teamwork and dedication look like. She has worked very early mornings, covered medical appointments when needed, and always does it all with a smile on her face. Her willingness to help wherever she’s needed has made a real difference across our programs.

Her coworkers describe her as a treasure—someone who brings positivity and reliability to every shift. One home manager said, “Arena is the bomb! She’ll work whenever you want her to.” That kind of spirit and commitment embodies the best of The Arc Southwest Indiana.

We are happy to announce that Deb Loyd has been selected as our Employee of the Month for July 2026.

Deb has been part of our Pike County Residential team since April 2022, beginning her work with us as a Waiver Nurse. She consistently demonstrates exceptional care for all our participants and approaches her role with professionalism and dedication. Deb routinely goes above and beyond—not only in her nursing responsibilities, but also in supporting multiple departments across Princeton and Petersburg. She never hesitates to lend a hand or offer thoughtful guidance whenever someone has a question.
