Officer Assaulted During Restraining Order Service

Last night at approximately 5:20 p.m., Sgt. McGuinness responded to a Mountain Road residence to serve a restraining order. While inside the residence, he encountered a disorderly and highly intoxicated male.

Due to the male’s behavior, Sgt. McGuinness requested mutual aid. Officers from the Westminster Police Department, Holden Police Department, and Massachusetts State Police responded to assist.

During the incident, the male assaulted a Westminster Police Officer by punching the officer. The male was subsequently subdued with the use of a Taser.

Due to his level of intoxication, the male was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and will be facing criminal charges related to his actions.

As part of the service of the restraining order, fi****ms legally possessed by the male were also removed from the residence as required.

We would like to thank the officers from Westminster, Holden, and the Massachusetts State Police for their quick response and assistance. Incidents like this demonstrate the importance of the strong mutual-aid partnerships among our local and state law enforcement agencies.

This weekend marked Chief Patriarca's fourth year participating in the Jimmy Fund Walk alongside Team Police Chiefs, supporting the incredible work of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

This walk is about so much more than the miles traveled. It’s about the patients and families facing cancer, the survivors who inspire us, the loved ones we remember, and the doctors, nurses, researchers, and countless others who dedicate themselves every day to providing hope and finding better treatments.

The Princeton Police Department is proud to once again stand alongside Team Police Chiefs and everyone who walked, donated, volunteered, or supported this important cause.

🔥 Help Us Plan for Wildfire & Brushfire Safety

In September 2025, the Towns of Princeton and Westminster, in partnership with the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC), began developing the area’s first Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP).

The plan covers the entire Town of Princeton, as well as portions of Westminster within the Wachusett Mountain State Reservation. The CWPP will help identify wildfire and brushfire risks and develop strategies to reduce their potential impact on our communities.

We need your input! By completing this survey, residents and community stakeholders can help us better understand the wildfire and brushfire risks that concern you most, both now and in the future.

Your feedback will be an important part of the planning process. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and help us better prepare and protect our communities.

Touch-a-Truck Event Cancelled Due to Weather

Unfortunately, due to concerns with the weather, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Touch-a-Truck event.

This was not an easy decision for our department heads. We truly enjoy this event and the opportunity it gives us to spend time with our community. We also recognize the tremendous amount of work that has already gone into planning and organizing the event.

We want to sincerely thank all of the departments, organizations, vendors, and participants who were willing to take part and help make this event special.

Most importantly, we have to put the safety of our participants, staff, and community members first. While we are disappointed that we won’t be able to hold the event this year, we appreciate everyone’s understanding and support.

Thank you to everyone who helped plan the event and to all those who were looking forward to joining us. We hope to see everyone at next year’s Touch-a-Truck!

🥕 Supporting Healthy Choices for Our Employees

The Princeton Police Department recently received grant funding through MIIA to provide healthy snack and food options for our employees.

This program is being shared with other Town departments, but it provides a unique benefit to our Police Department. Our officers work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays. With very limited food options available in our area after normal business hours, finding something to eat during a shift can sometimes be a challenge.

This grant gives us an opportunity to keep healthier food and snack options available at the station for our officers and staff throughout the day and night. It is a simple investment that supports employee health and wellness while also addressing a practical challenge that comes with providing around-the-clock public safety services.

We appreciate MIIA's continued support of employee health and wellness initiatives and are grateful for the opportunity to bring this program to Princeton!
