Prior Lake Savage Area Schools Social Media Rules of Engagement:

Our social media pages are part of a family-friendly community where fans can join in everyday conversation.

The goal of Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools (PLSAS) social media pages is to share important information about the district with our public, and engage in an open and respectful dialogue. We want your experience to be enjoyable, so we’ve put together the following guidelines. It is important to note that any comments, photos, videos, links, etc., posted by our fans are not endorsed by PLSAS, nor do we confirm their accuracy. We want our social media pages to be places for respectful communication, so comments regarding a personal issue with the district, a district staff member, along with inappropriate remarks and profanity will be removed. We do not accept cyberbullying and/or posts or comments that are discriminatory, political, racist, sexist, abusive, profane, violent, obscene, spam, contain falsehoods or are wildly off-topic, or that libel, incite, threaten or make ad hominem attacks on students, employees, guests or other individuals. We reserve the right to delete comments that do not meet these guidelines. While we appreciate those in our community who want to share their products and services with us, please understand that these pages are only for sharing news and insights about our schools. We kindly ask that you not post sales, offers or other solicitations to our pages. We know there might be times when you have an issue to discuss. If you have a question for a specific employee, we encourage you to contact that person directly. Staff contact information can be found on our website: https://www.plsas.org/directory

These pages are yours and we want you to feel comfortable sharing your views about PLSAS. Part of our district’s mission is to engage parents, families and community to strengthen a culture of respect and inclusion and we want to operate the same way on our social media pages.

📚 Breakfast and books at Five Hawks!

Last Friday, Five Hawks welcomed K–5 students and their families for a morning of reading, games and connection. Families enjoyed time together, connected with one another and students were able to take books home!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success and bring our Laker community together around a love of reading!

What happens when first graders become scientists? A little curiosity, some hands-on experiments and a whole lot of learning! 🔬🧪

This week at Glendale Elementary, first graders took part in the Scientist of the Week program, teaming up with their families to share experiments with their classmates. Along the way, students practiced writing lab reports, explaining their steps and building public speaking skills, all while discovering the excitement of science.

Big discoveries start with little scientists! 💙💛

E-STEM Day at Hamilton Ridge was all about exploring, discovering and getting hands-on with science and nature!

Earlier this week, students in grades K–5 headed outdoors with naturalists from the Three Rivers Park District to learn through hands-on experiences. Each grade level explored a unique topic, giving students the chance to ask questions, make discoveries and see science in action right outside their classroom.

Learning looks a little different when the great outdoors becomes your classroom!

A conversation between second graders sparked an idea that grew into something bigger.

Three years ago, students at Jeffers Pond Elementary asked a simple but important question: “Why can’t Claire go into the playground?”

On Wednesday, October 21, that question came full circle with the ribbon cutting for Every Buddy’s Playground at Jeffers Pond, marking the second of two PLSAS playground celebrations.

Through the Every Buddy’s Playground initiative, PLSAS is working to create more accessible, inclusive spaces where children of all abilities can play, explore and connect with their peers. With more than $117,000 raised by the Jeffers Pond community, that original conversation has helped make a difference for students today and for years to come.

A heartfelt thank-you to the sponsors, families and community members who helped bring this vision to life, including Jeffers Pond students and families, Jeffers Pond PTC, Burnsville/Savage Lions, Laker Promotions, Prior Lake Lions, Prior Lake Rotary, PLSAS Unified, Horse and Hunt Club, Savage Rotary, Prior Lake Optimist Club, DOGS, MVEC Round Up Grant, Laker Educational Foundation, Prior Lake VFW, Knotty Oar, Boathouse Brewery, Power of 100 and our private donors.

Your generosity is helping create a space where every child has the opportunity to play, belong and be part of the fun. Thank you for giving all kids a place to play together!

A third-place finish at state!
Our PLHS Unified Flag Football team competed in the state tournament today in Blaine and are bringing home a third-place finish!

Congratulations to these athletes on an incredible season. They played hard, represented PLHS with pride and showed what inclusion looks like on and off the field.

If you see them around school tomorrow, be sure to give them a big congratulations!
