Starting today July 1, 2026, a new law related to E-Motos, E-Bikes, and E-Scooters; the age restriction on operating these transportation devices. The State of Illinois has set a 15-year-old age limit for any type of Low Speed E-Bike or E-Scooter (10-15 mph). All other micro- mobility devices require riders to be 16 years old to have a driver's license, registration, and insurance. (15+mph)
