📣 Veterans Memorial Cemetery - October 16, 9:00 AM | 301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822 – This planting will also feature expanded interpretive signage exploring the history and significance of Rhode Island’s revolutionary story in greater depth.
In the 18th century, Liberty Trees served as gathering places where colonists shared ideas, organized, and sparked the spirit of independence. Today, communities across the state are planting new Liberty Trees to honor that legacy and celebrate the values of freedom, unity, and civic engagement.
Each ceremony will include remarks from local leaders, a reflection on the significance of Liberty Trees in Revolutionary America, and the dedication of a tree as a living symbol for future generations.
