Applying for SNAP in Rhode Island? 📢 Important policy changes to SNAP Expedited Processing officially went into effect yesterday, September 20.
If you need your benefits processed faster (usually within 7 days), staying on top of your paperwork is now more critical than ever.
Under the new rules, if the Department of Human Services (DHS) previously requested documents that you did not provide, your next application might not be eligible for the fast-track timeline. Instead, it will follow the regular processing cycle, which can take up to 30 days.

💡 Quick Tips to Protect Your Fast-Track Timeline:
Submit everything together: Include as much ID, income, and residency verification as you can when you first apply.
Act fast: Respond to any missing info requests from DHS immediately.
Keep info current: Make sure your mailing address and phone number are up to date.
