First constructed in 1854, La Fluer Du Soleil is a historic manor property located on what was originally the Moses Brown Plantation farm on the east side of Providence, Rhode Island but was ultimately bisected out with the introduction of a road that lead to the Providence's first ferry. In 2009, La Fleur Du Soleil was researched via historic photographs and reimagined with the building gutted and restored to much of its original layout but with modern twists and the same spirit of quality. However, completion of development faced an uncertain future due to a combination of the 2008 economic crisis and cost over runs which eventually led to the property being bisected and sold to several private parties . In 2012, title to La Fleur du Soleil was finally consolidated back to a single benefactor with the goal of completing the restoration but without the previous bureaucracy or budgetary concerns which maligned the first effort. Since 2012, the property has been periodically opened to the public and substantial restoration is taking place without obstruction or interruption. Tours are available through May of 2013.
