Our last slow your roll Provo message this week.
Yes, pedestrians also have rules to follow too:
1. Use crosswalks to cross streets
2. Obey pedestrian traffic control devices
3. Obey activated rail crossing arms
4. If a sidewalk is available, it is prohibited to walk in a roadway
5. Don’t dart out into traffic

Slow your roll Provo! Micromobility devices can be a fun way to get around, but there are a few things to remember before buckling up your helmet:
1. Sidewalk speed limit is 10 MPH.
2. No riding on downtown sidewalks
3. River Trail speed limit is 15 MPH
4. Riders must yield to pedestrians
5. Riders must stop before entering roadways
6. Riders under 21 must wear a helmet - it's the law!

For those making June plans... we'd love to see you at one of our grill-sessions, but we'll only be serving bratwursts, hotdogs and conversation!

06/04/2026

Slow your roll Provo! Summer is here and our streets and sidewalks are busy. So far this year we have recorded 20 auto-pedestrian (including cyclist and micro-mobility rider) collisions. The majority of these pedestrians/riders were in crosswalks or on sidewalks when they were struck by a vehicle. Sadly, one pedestrian did not survive their injuries. We are appealing to all drivers to recommit to looking out for pedestrians and micro-mobility riders; to slow down your speed, and avoid distractions.

In collaboration with family members, Provo Police Detectives are appealing to the public for any information on the whereabouts of 7-year-old missing twins, Amelia and Sophia Johns. It is believed they are with their mother, Victoria Zoe Vincent (29). They may also be using the surname, Vincent. There is no information indicating the children are in danger at this time, only that their mother left with them voluntarily, and without knowledge or consent of their father.

Amelia and Sophia were last seen with their mother on July 21st, 2025, attending a gymnastics class at the Orem Recreation Center. Their family vehicle was left in the parking lot of the facility, with the keys inside, and Victoria and the twins have not been seen by remaining paternal family members since.

The father of the children, Joshua Johns, filed a missing persons report with Provo Police Department three months later, in October of 2025. The children were listed as missing on NCIC at that time, and investigators have followed up on all leads and information provided by family members and other law enforcement agencies. However, Amelia and Sophia have not been located. The Vincents have familial ties in the Spokane area of Washington State, as well as Texas and California.

A subsequent divorce decree between Vincent and Johns was finalized in December 2025, assigning sole custody to the girls’ father. We are seeking to locate Amelia and Sophia, to comply with the court-ordered agreement. If anyone has information that could help us find the twins, please call our detectives at 801 852 6210.

Alternatively, information can be sent via the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children online tips, or by calling 1800 843 5678.
