Strong muscles take practice. You don’t build endurance by skipping workouts. 💪

Your brain is a muscle too. 🧠

Regular attendance = daily brain exercise.

Miss practice… fall behind.
Miss class… miss the building blocks of success.

Show up every day. Build your brain’s strength.

The Magic Starts by Showing Up!

Wasatch Weekly 8/31-9/4

Welcome to another wonderful week at Wasatch! We're looking forward to our first BARK Assembly this week! Have a great week!

BARK: Our BARK focus this week is the Cafeteria. Our students have done a wonderful job learning and following expectations in the cafeteria these first days of school. They were especially great at keeping their spaces clean. We need your help as families to review the expectation that all food stays in the cafeteria. Food is not allowed on the playground or in the hallways. This helps us keep our campus safe, clean, and free of pests and critters. Thank you!

Please also remind your students that, if they ride a bike or scooter, they need to walk it on school grounds and park it in the bike/scooter racks. We have had injuries due to students riding their bikes/scooters on school grounds. Bikes and scooters on the ground at the bottom of the stairs or elsewhere are a safety hazard. We want to keep everyone safe!

ATTENDANCE: Thank you for your efforts in helping your student get to school on time to walk in with their class from the playground. Our before-school procedures have been running smoothly!

Our first week of school for grades 1-6 was the best first week! We had so many moments of joy with the students. We loved greeting them at the Red Carpet, and Fist Bump Friday. We had an awesome Welcome Back Assembly where we introduced our theme "Wasatch Rangers Lead the Way".

This week, we look forward to welcoming our kindergarteners on Wednesday! Our pick up/drop off has been going well, thank you for your support. The students are getting used to entering the playground from the outside rather than the main entrance of the school. We will continue to pick up classes from the playground at 8:35 a.m. when the first bell rings. All students will be directed to the playground until 8:40 a.m., when the final bell rings. At 8:40 a.m., supervisors will allow the remaining students on the playground to enter the building, the doors will be locked, and students arriving after 8:40 a.m. will need to check in through the main office.

BARK: Our BARK focus this week is the hallway. We will review hallway expectations and look for ways to give BARK points for following hallway expectations. Students should walk, stay in line with their class, and keep their voices silent or whisper only if needed in the hallways, including when entering the building in the mornings. Following these expectations helps keep our students focused as we have many learning activities happening in the hallway collaboration areas throughout the day.

ATTENDANCE: Our goal as a school this year is to increase the amount of students arriving on time to enter the building with their class when the bell rings! Our students get off to a great start together as a class when all students are ready and prepared to begin the day together.
