Trauma does not always announce itself through a clear memory or an obvious emotional response. Sometimes it may show up as:
Tight shoulders.
A clenched jaw.
Shallow breathing.
Belly tension.
Constant fatigue.
Restlessness.
Difficulty relaxing.
Feeling disconnected from your body.

These experiences can have many causes, but they may also carry a nervous-system component. Learning to notice what happens inside your body can help you respond with more understanding and less judgment.

Colorado scored a B grade on the new report card from Siecus: S*x Ed for Social Change. While we can be proud of the work that health educators across the state have done for decades, there's so much more we can do! Juniper SoCO is honored to be part of the team providing comprehensive human sexuality education in Pueblo, along with our partners at the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment. 💚

🌿 Community Spotlight: Meet Amber from Juniper Southern Colorado/PRCS 🌿

The Pueblo Farmers Market is about more than fresh food. It’s also a place to connect with local people, services, ideas, and resources that help make our community stronger.

This season, we’re excited to welcome Amber Golshani, ND with Juniper Southern Colorado, who is offering free AcuWellness sessions at the market this Saturday.

AcuWellness, also known as AcuDetox, uses five sterile, one-time-use acupuncture needles placed at specific points in the ears while participants relax quietly for 15–30 minutes. The goal is to encourage calm, reduce stress, and support emotional well-being.

For Amber, bringing AcuWellness to the market is all about accessibility and community.

“Taking care of ourselves has ripple effects into the community. The more regulated and balanced we are, the better we can show up for our families, friends, our work, and our community.”

Amber is no stranger to the PFM family. She spent three years as a market vendor sharing her homemade Fire C***r and connecting with Pueblo neighbors. Now she’s back in a new role, offering a little space to slow down, relax, and take care of yourself while you’re at market.

Stop by, say hello, and learn more about this free community offering. 🌱

Come, sit and relax under the shade trees and experience a free AcuWellness session. AcuWellness helps calm the body and mind, regulate the nervous system and release stress.

Join me, Amber Golshani, at the Pueblo Farmers Market on Saturday September 12th from 7am-11am.

See you there!

Next week, we wear denim with purpose 💙

Denim Day is a global movement that supports survivors and raises awareness about sexual violence. It reminds us that clothing is never an invitation or consent.

At Juniper Southern Colorado, we provide advocacy and support for survivors in our community, and your help makes that possible.

Donate today: https://rapecrisisservices.giv.sh/9a9b

Then wear denim next week to show your support.

Every dollar helps bring care, resources, and hope to those who need it most. Wearing denim is a simple way to stand with survivors and show that you believe them.

**April 29, 2026 ** Wear jeans with a purpose, support survivors, and educate yourself and others about all forms of sexual violence. Check out https://denimday.org/ for more info.
