We’re proud to share that Governor Jared Polis has officially proclaimed September as Workforce Development Month in Colorado.

From veterans and youth to New Americans and rural communities, Colorado’s workforce is diverse, resilient and ready for the future. This month is a chance to recognize the people and programs building career pathways, connecting talent with opportunity and making Colorado the best place to work and live. Let’s keep working together for a Colorado for all.

Behind our Office of Just Transition are Coloradans who care deeply about the communities they serve. We’d like to introduce you to one of them:

Meet Kelly Gatlin, our Transition Career Planning Coordinator.👋

With more than a dozen years as a public servant, Kelly brings a practical, hard-working perspective to our team. When she isn’t helping coal workers and their families map out their next professional steps, she’s down in Pueblo running a family auction business with her husband, children and grandchildren. She knows what it takes to build and run something of your own and can help aspiring entrepreneurs do the same.

Kelly is dedicated to this work and knows it goes well beyond helping to secure a paycheck. She’s here to support workers and their families through every aspect of tough changes, to listen to what workers want for their futures, and to connect them to the resources to build it.

You can find Kelly at Workforce Colorado Rural Alliance: Southeast Center in Pueblo. Come say hello or connect with her directly at [email protected].
