2026 Ballot Measure 2A Fire and Technology

Ballot Measure Facts

What expenses could be approved if the ballot measure passes?
This means there will be a dedicated source of revenue for the Pueblo Fire Department and its future technology needs. The money in the fund will be able to be used to replace equipment that has reached the end of its useful life. The fund can replace outdated technology or obtain new technology in the fire stations or on fire trucks/vehicles for public safety outreach. This fund can be used to keep communication capabilities up-to-date and update medical equipment as needed.

Note that there is already a Public Safety Sales Tax (PSST) designated for the Pueblo Police Department. The current tax ballot question is a separate initiative and a separate tax specifically for the Fire Department and Technology Related Public Safety Purposes.

🚨 Public Information 🚨

There will be a a training scenario happening today at Pueblo East High School. Please be aware of emergency vehicles in that areas.

TRAINING EVENT TODAY
Active Shooter Drill

On October 16, 2026, Pueblo Police and East High School will participate in an Active Shooter Drill on campus. This drill will involve police, fire, rescue and other first responders that will respond to the East Campus just as they would in an active shooter situation. There will also be limited road and street access around the campus during the drill.

The police department, staff and administration wanted to take this opportunity to inform our community neighbors about this drill for several reasons. Please do not be alarmed, this is only a drill. Also, during the drill, you may be inconvenienced by traffic and road closures. We apologize for this in advance. The drill should be concluded by 12:00 p.m. and all traffic and roads will return to normal.

This drill is critical to ensure the safety of the school's staff and students while providing essential training to first responders. We appreciate your cooperation and are always thankful for your support.
