We are in the final stretch for our Pueblo voters. If you are of voting age, be sure to grab that ballot and get it filled out. There are so many resources available to assist you in making educated decisions and as your Local 3 firefighters we hope to see a lot of YES TO 2A.
The 2A ballot measure will specifically allocate funds that the department can use to maintain/purchase new apparatus, be sure we have the most up to date equipment and keep our technology running smoothly.

2026 Ballot Measure 2A Fire and Technology

What happens if 2A does not pass?

The 0.25% sales and use tax would not be added to the current City Sales Tax rate of 3.7%.

If this sales tax initiative fails, NO dedicated revenue stream will be created for the Fire Department or Technology Related to Public Safety.

2A supports your local firefighters! If it passes, the entire percentage of the sales tax collected at the quarter percent increase (0.25%) will be designated to the Fire Department and Technology Related to Public Safety Purposes. That means up to date equipment, better response times and the best service to our Pueblo community! 👩🏻‍🚒👨🏻‍🚒🚒

Yesterday we welcomed retiree Dominic Spunuzzi back to Station 9!
Dominick was a Captain from 1954 to 1987 and is currently 98 years old. We toured Station 9 with crews from Engine 39 and Ladder truck 52.
His family was present to reminisce times gone by and celebrate Captain Spinuzzi’s time with the PFD. 💪🏼🔥🧯

What is ballot measure 2a?
If passed, it will create a special fund to be used only for expenses related to Fire and Technology related to Public Safety. This means there will be a dedicated source of revenue for the Department of Fire and its future technology needs.
The money in the fund will be able to be used to replace equipment that has reached the end of its useful life, replace outdated technology, obtain new technology in the fire stations or on fire trucks/vehicles for public safety outreach, keep communication capabilities up-to-date, and update medical equipment as needed.
These are just a few examples of how the funds will be used to serve the Fire Department and Public Safety Technology needs of the City! 🚒🔥
