The Salvation Army Angel Tree registration for seniors over 65 in the New River Valley ends tomorrow. Seniors can register online at saangeltree.org, or in person today between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. at 1125 Roanoke Street in Christiansburg. If you have questions, please call 540-394-3233.

We are grateful to have been a CORE community partner with VCOM-Virginia - Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine once again this year. Our student group worked with members of our Congregate Meals Program, or Friendship Cafes, throughout the New River Valley, to to learn more about participation and outcomes. We are so proud of this group of smiling faces! Great job, Team!

Medicare Open Enrollment is from October 15th through December 7th. Call the NRV Agency on Aging VICAP Program if you need assistance with:
1) Joining an new Medicare Advantage Program
2) Joining a new Part D Prescription Drug Program
3) Switching from Original Medicare to Medicare Advantage

Thank you to Katie and Mathew, and the entire congregation at McDonald's Mill United Methodist Church, for inviting us to their October 4th Homecoming Celebration and for packing these lovely Fall Staples for Seniors bags. The Staples for Seniors program ensures that our elderly neighbors facing food insecurity never have to miss a meal or go hungry. The McDonalds Mill United Methodist Church, which is a member of the Catawba Circuit Charge of the United Methodist Church, packs these bags each quarter so that we can distribute them to seniors in need. Each bag also contains messages of love, support and hope. Our clients love them 🥰!
