Hi! My name is Kristina Sytsevich, an MS1 from St. Petersburg, FL, majoring in Kinesiology with the goal of commissioning active duty in the army. A former Raider Team Captain and track athlete, I led the team to two Raider National Championships earning two “Super Bowl” rings through JROTC Raiders. Born in the U.S. with Ukrainian roots and 1 of 7 siblings. I love going on road trips especially along the east coast and upper midwest, exploring new places and appreciating all that God has created.

WSU Army ROTC recognizes three former members of our cadre who have recently transitioned to the next chapter of their careers.

MAJ Hynes now serves as Training Officer/S3, 96th Troop Command, WAARNG.

LTC Petris now serves as Cross Functional Division Chief, J2 JISE, Joint Task Force–Western Hemisphere (JTF-WHEM).

SFC Taylor previously served with WSU Army ROTC and has retired from the United States Army.

We are grateful for their leadership, mentorship, and dedication to developing the next generation of Army leaders.

We wish MAJ Hynes and LTC Petris continued success and SFC Taylor all the best in retirement.

Never Forget.

This morning, WSU Army ROTC, UOFI Army ROTC, WSU Air Force ROTC and Pullman locals came together for a 9/11 workout at the football field to honor the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call on September 11, 2001.

We remember their sacrifice, their courage, and the lasting impact they had on our nation.

We will never forget.

Three Cadets. One Challenge. One Badge.

This summer, Cadets Gould, Kaikkonen, and Quezada took on Air Assault School and came back with their wings.

Here’s what they learned:

“Air Assault takes a lot of dedication, time, and patience. You have to lean into those around you in order to succeed.” - CDT Gould

“It was an eye opening experience, it taught me to execute under pressure.” - CDT Kaikkonen

“Take every opportunity the army gives you and make the most of it. Left with knowledge, experience, and most importantly lessons and relationships with soldiers I never could have imagined if i didn’t push myself to be better everyday.” - CDT Quezada

Congratulations on representing our battalion with professionalism, resilience, and grit. We can’t wait to see where these experiences take you next.
