🥤 Stacking Up Skills in PE! 🥤

Our PE students have been working hard on their sport speed stacking skills, and they’ve been doing an AMAZING job! ❤️🤍 It has been so much fun watching them improve their speed, coordination, and confidence as they practice their cup-stacking sequences.

Did you know that sport stacking helps develop more than just fast hands? This fun activity helps students build:

👏 Hand-Eye Coordination – Training their eyes and hands to work together!
⚡ Speed & Agility – Improving quick, controlled movements.
🧠 Focus & Concentration – Staying on task and remembering sequences.
🔄 Bilateral Coordination – Learning to use both hands together.
🎯 Fine Motor Skills – Practicing precise, controlled movements.
💪 Perseverance & Self-Confidence – Practicing, improving, and celebrating personal progress!

We are so proud of the effort our students are putting in and love seeing them challenge themselves, learn new skills, and get a little faster with each practice!

Way to go, Dragons! Keep stacking up those skills! 🐉🥤❤️🤍

🦸 Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is coming up, and we are excited to celebrate with fun dress-up days! This year, we have partnered our Halloween celebration with our Red Ribbon Week activities.

Red Ribbon Week: October 26th–30th
Theme: BE A HERO, STAY DRUG FREE! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

Please remember that costumes should be kept to a minimum so students can easily use the restroom, participate in recess, and take part in PE. Sending a change of clothes in your child’s backpack is also a great idea, as students sometimes tire of wearing their costume throughout the day.

Please help us keep costumes happy, friendly, and age-appropriate—no blood, gore, or frightening costumes. Thank you for helping us celebrate being drug-free in a sweet and fun way!

Monday – Don’t sweat it! Live drug-free!
Wear sweats or comfy clothing.

Tuesday – Team up against drugs!
Wear your favorite team jersey or shirt.

Wednesday – Drugs are CRAZY!
Wear your hair and clothes in a crazy way.

Thursday – Shade out drugs!
Wear your favorite hat and sunglasses.

Friday – Drugs aren’t our CHARACTER!
Dress up as your favorite storybook character.

No school Friday, October 23rd - Professional Development Day.

We are so excited to share that Purcell Elementary has been awarded an NFL FLAG-In-School Kit through GENYOUth! ❤️🤍

This amazing donation provides our PE students with new opportunities to learn flag football, develop teamwork and sportsmanship, build confidence, and stay active while having fun!

We are incredibly grateful to GENYOUth and the NFL Foundation for investing in our students and helping us continue to make physical education fun, engaging, and inclusive for everyone!
