**All roads are now open**

**UPDATE** - There is no continued threat to the public. The suspect in this incident is deceased. Further updates will follow. SE 12th remains closed.

**UPDATE** - Redbud is now open. SE 12th Ave will remain closed. Updates will be posted as needed.

PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE — GOLDSBY

The McClain County Sheriff's Office is currently responding to an active situation in the Town of Goldsby.

SE 12th Street is closed between Redbud and Maple. Redbud between 12th and Ladd Road is closed until further notice. We ask motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Residents in the area south of Redbud and east of SE 12th to Ladd Road are encouraged to remain indoors.

For the safety of the public and responding personnel, please do not approach the scene.

Additional information will be released when appropriate.

**UPDATE** - Rodney has been located and is safe. We thank the public for all their assistance!

SILVER ALERT — PLEASE SHARE

The McClain County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating Rodney Brotherton, age 63, pictured below.

Rodney was last seen around 4:00 p.m. on October 14, 2026, in Wayne, Oklahoma.

He may be driving a red 1999 Chevrolet S10 pickup with Oklahoma tag DYZ776. The vehicle has a missing bumper, a broken driver-side rear window, one taillight out, and one taillight covered with red tape.

Rodney has been diagnosed with mental health issues and may not be taking his medications.

If you see Rodney or the vehicle, call your local law enforcement immediately. Please share this post to help bring him home safely.

In observance of the Columbus Day holiday, the administrative offices of the McClain County Sheriff's Office will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026. Dispatch and operations will be unaffected.

This is a reminder that McClain County is still in a burn ban. The Board of McClain County Commissioners will review the burn ban at next Monday's Commissioners Meeting on October 5th.
