🎾 That’s a wrap on our PE Tennis Unit! 🎾

Our Purcell Intermediate Dragons had a blast learning and practicing their tennis skills! We kicked things off with Bridge Ball to get warmed up, moved on to Clear the Court to practice serving, and finished with King of the Court to work on rallying! 🎾👏

We loved seeing our students build their skills, stay active, and have fun along the way! We may have some future tennis stars in the making right here at Purcell Intermediate! 🐉❤️🖤

🚒🔥 A BIG THANK YOU TO THE PURCELL FIRE DEPARTMENT! 🔥🚒

We are so thankful to the Purcell Fire Department for visiting Purcell Intermediate today to teach our students about fire safety! ❤️🖤

Our students learned about the three ways heat travels—conduction, convection, and radiation—as well as the three things needed for a fire to occur. 🔥 They also discussed the importance of having a fire escape plan at home and watched an educational video featuring Bill Nye the Science Guy! 🧑‍🔬

We are so blessed to have a fire department that invests its time and knowledge in educating and protecting our students. Thank you for helping our Dragons learn important skills that can keep them safe! 🐉❤️

The book fair is coin free like last year. That means you can pay with coins, but every purchase will be rounded up to the nearest dollar- and every rounded up dollar goes straight into our share the fair fund to help provide books for students in need and new books for our library.

Inspiring us every day with their hard work and dedication to our students and school!
Joe Franco
1. How many years have you been in education, how many at Purcell, and what roles have you served in?
I am currently in my 10th year in education. This is my 5th year at Purcell Intermediate.
I’ve taught Kindergarten, 2nd, and most recently TEAMS Rotation. I’ve also served in the Intermediate AIR Dragon room. My current roles in the Purcell School District are Assistant Athletic Director, Bus #5 route driver, Head JH Baseball Coach, Head JH Softball Coach, and TEAMS Rotation.

2. What brings you the most joy or excitement about working in education?
My most recent joy has been getting to hear feedback from so many students, parents, fellow teachers, and administrators that students are truly excited to go to TEAMS because of the variety of activities, lessons, and different subjects.

3. What is your favorite place in the world and why?
My favorite place in the world is any field or court with my own children or JH Players. Athletics doesn’t just teach us lessons about sport but lessons in life

Gidget Greenlee
1. How many years have you been in education, how many at Purcell, and what roles have you served in?
I have been in education for 28 years, the last 8 years at Purcell. I have taught PreK, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

2. What brings you the most joy or excitement about working in education?
Hanging out and connecting with kids brings me happiness in education. Don't get me wrong, the aha and light bulb moments are wonderful, but having a connection with a kid and even their family is my happy place in school. I want them to know I have their back, and I'm always available if they need me.

3. What is your favorite place in the world and why?
My favorite place in the world is sitting in a church pew with my children and my mom. Those moments make me feel safe and peaceful and are incredibly important to me.

We appreciate all that these two do to make Purcell Intermediate a great place every day!
