Bedford Hills Tower Ladder 57, Yorktown Heights Ladder 51, and Purchase Ladder 53 all training together on this rainy Sunday.

Members of the Bedford Hills, Yorktown Heights, and Purchase Fire Departments working side-by-side during the New York State Aerial Operator Class, gaining valuable hands-on experience with aerial apparatus operations.

Training together allows our departments to build skills, strengthen teamwork, and become more familiar with the equipment we may operate alongside during mutual aid incidents.

On Wednesday evening, firefighters from Purchase, Harrison, Port Chester, Rye, West Harrison, and Valhalla participated in a walkthrough of a newly constructed building within the Purchase Fire District.

Due to the size and complexity of the building, an enhanced response involving multiple fire departments may be required in the event of an emergency. The walkthrough provided firefighters with a valuable opportunity to become familiar with the buildingโ€™s layout and features, including access points, building systems, utilities, and other critical operational considerations. Pre-incident planning and training like this help our firefighters better understand the buildings in our community and prepare for a coordinated response.

Thank you to all of the departments who participated!

Earlier this week, the Purchase Fire Department's Engine Committee traveled to Clintonville, Wisconsin, to perform a final inspection of their recently completed Marauder Pumper at Seagrave Fire Apparatus. The committee spent two days at the factory to ensure that all specifications were met prior to the apparatus being delivered to Hudson Valley Fire Equipment in the coming weeks. This new engine will be designated as Engine 239 and will replace Engine 240, a 2003 Seagrave Marauder that has faithfully served the department for more than two decades. The Purchase Fire Department proudly awaits the arrival of Engine 239 and looks forward to many years of reliable, high-quality service to the Purchase Fire District.
