Bravo Zulu to last night’s lecture speaker, Dr. Ross Phillips, for a thoughtful analysis of the way the Marine Corps’ roles and missions have evolved, overlapped and adapted over time. From ship guarding — to a Force in Readiness, Dr. Phillips challenged attendees to consider what future eras may look like for the Marine Corps. Thank you to the National Museum of the Marine Corps for hosting this series, and all in attendance for joining HD on such a beautiful evening.

USMC 250 Lecture with Dr. Ross Phillips begins at 1900 tonight! Come early and grab a bite to eat at Tun Tavern.

One flag. One moment. A legacy that endured.

Recovered from the devastation at the Pentagon, this flag became the inspiration for the cover art of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘤𝘺 𝘰𝘧 9/11: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘜.𝘚. 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘱𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘳 𝘈𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 2001, painted by Marine Corps Artist-in-Residence Kristopher J. Battles.
