September is Su***de Awareness Month. Veteran su***de doesn’t always look like a crisis. It doesn’t always come with warning signs that are loud or obvious. That’s what makes it hard to see.
Sometimes it looks like a normal day.
Going to work.
Cracking jokes.
Showing up for everyone else.
But quiet struggles are still real struggles. Learn the signs to help you recognize when a veteran in your life may be having a difficult time:

September is Veterans Su***de Prevention Month
Every day, approximately 17 veterans die by su***de.
This month, we honor those we’ve lost and fight for those still here. Veterans face unique challenges: PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, isolation, and the struggle to find purpose after service. But healing is possible. Connection is powerful. And hope is real.
🟦 What You Can Do:
- 📞 Call or text 988, then press 1 to reach the Veterans Crisis Line
- 💬 Check in on a veteran. A simple “How are you really doing?” can save a life
- 🎓 Take a free su***de prevention training at BeTheOne.org
- 📣 Share this message. Awareness saves lives
🕯️ This September, let’s be the one who listens. The one who reaches out. The one who makes a difference.
