There is no better time to see the cooperative principle of “Cooperation Among Cooperatives” in action than during a storm. Impacts from Hurricane Isaias caused significant damage, including dangerous storm surges, heavy rain, and damaging winds in neighboring territories.

Now that outages in our service area are almost fully restored, Talquin deployed crews early this morning to provide mutual aid support to West Florida Electric Cooperative.

As we keep their safety top of mind as they travel and begin restoration efforts, we also want to take this time to extend our sincere gratitude to the mutual aid crews who provided their invaluable assistance to Talquin throughout the storm, including those who may not be specifically recognized on this list:

We know that time away from loved ones is not easy, and we are deeply grateful for the commitment, hard work, and sacrifices that every mutual aid crew, contractor, and supporting personnel has made to help restore our services.

In the wake of storm impacts, mutual aid is a powerful reminder that the cooperative family extends beyond our own service territories. By working together, we strengthen the ability to respond, recover, and serve the Members who depend on us all.

We apologize if we have omitted anyone who contributed to supporting Talquin and our Members during the storm.

Please join us in wishing safe travels to our crews on the way to West Florida, and in thanking our neighbors for their unwavering support.

Talquin crews continue making significant progress restoring power following Hurricane Isaias!

As of 9:00AM this morning, approximately 30 remain without power, down from 192 at our 10 PM update last night.

Our line crews, Dispatch team, support personnel, and mutual aid partners have worked tirelessly throughout the restoration effort, and their dedication continues to make a tremendous difference. While the majority of affected Members have power restored, crews remain focused on the remaining outages. Many of these involve individual locations where fallen trees, damaged equipment, and areas difficult to access that require additional time and repairs.

To our Members: Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
