💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜
Throughout October, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office joins our community in raising awareness about domestic violence, supporting survivors, and recognizing the importance of ensuring help is available to those experiencing abuse.
The Sheriff’s Office is proud to have Deputy Sheriff Julius Barker serving as our Domestic Violence Specialist. In this role, Deputy Barker works closely with victims, investigators, advocates, and community partners throughout all aspects of domestic violence cases. His work helps ensure victims receive support, information, and connections to resources during what can be an incredibly difficult time.
A few weeks ago, Deputy Barker represented the Sheriff’s Office at the Women’s Resource Center Domestic Violence Awareness Walk, joining survivors, advocates, law enforcement, and members of our community in bringing attention to domestic violence and showing support for those whose lives have been impacted by it.
We are grateful for Deputy Barker’s dedication to this important work and for our continued partnership with the Women’s Resource Center, which provides critical services and advocacy to individuals and families throughout Racine County.
Domestic violence can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or circumstance. This October, we encourage our community to learn the warning signs, support survivors, and remember that help is available.
💜 If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, you are not alone. The Women’s Resource Center provides confidential assistance and support through its 24-hour crisis line at 262-633-3233.
Together, through awareness, education, advocacy, and community partnerships, we can continue working toward a safer Racine County.
