HOPES Center of Racine, Inc. Recognizing the worth and dignity of each person, HOPES helps people end their homelessness. It has three main programs:

1.

HOPES Center was founded by the Racine Dominicans and is an active member of the Homelessness and Housing Alliance of Racine County. HOPES Center serves people experiencing homelessness in the City and County of Racine Wisconsin. Street Outreach: HOPES's street outreach teams go out at night to locate, engage with and assist people who are homeless and living in places not meant for human habitation.

2. Supportive Services: Case managers assist people who are homeless and who have a mental health condition to access mental health services, income and housing.

3. Rapid Rehousing: HOPES Center's Rapid Rehousing program is part of Racine's coordinated entry system that provides housing assistance to people who are living in Racine's shelters or in places note meant for human habitation. After receiving a referral from coordinated entry, HOPES provides rental assistance and case management to help households achieve housing stability. HOPES is a sponsored ministry of the Racine Dominicans and an active member of the Continuum of Care for the City and County of Racine and its outreach wing, the Homelessness and Housing Alliance of Racine County.

FALL / WINTER STREET OUTREACH TEAMS

Did you know that HOPES' Street Outreach Team is actually split into smaller teams that serve on different nights (and sometimes have different types of assignments)? A team never has more than three people on it. This Fall/Winter Season, HOPES has four teams that are scheduled on different nights throughout the week.

Additional ad hoc teams are formed for special assignments. Ri' also does follow-up during the day with some of the people the team meets at night, especially those who are working towards housing.

HOPES Center is very pleased to announce that it has received a grant award for its Street Outreach work from the Racine Community Foundation. Recognizing the worth and dignity of each person, HOPES helps people end their homelessness. The Racine Community Foundation plays a big role in our ability to do this.

Street Outreach is a service specifically for people experiencing unsheltered homelessness in Racine County, meaning that they sleep "on the streets" in places not meant for human habitation. HOPES has small street outreach teams that go out a 3 - 4 nights per week to meet people where are on the streets. The people our teams meet either cannot or choose not to enter shelter or temporary housing for a wide variety of reasons. The teams provide basic assistance, information on services available in Racine, and offer connections and assistance in finding a path off the streets and out of homelessness. We are extremely grateful for the foundation's partnership in helping us do that.

HOPES Center is delived to announce that it has received an award from the Green Bay Packers Foundation as part of its 2026 Grant Cycle. This funding will support HOPES' street outreach efforts in service of people experiencine unsheltered homelessness in Racine County. Recognizing the worth and dignity of each person, HOPES helps people end their homelessness, and greatly appreciates the Green Bay Packers Foundation's support of this mission.

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT
Have you ever thought about volunteering to serve people experiencing homelessness where they are on the streets? Do you think you could handle a few hours per week serving on the streets at night during the fall and winter months? If so, then becoming a fall / winter street outreach volunteer might be something for you. HOPES has some openings on its Street Outreach Teams during the coming cold weather season. Street Outreach Volunteers serve one night per week from 9 p.m. to midnight. They are part of a team of 2 - 3 people that goes out and meets people who are experiencing unsheltered homelessness (living "on the streets:) where they are.

HOPES has a few openings for Street Outreach Volunteers on its Tuesday Night and Thursday Night teams for the Fall / Winter Season (October - May).
