RUEMS has been hard at work over this past month with weekly meetings, trainings, and standbys around Radford University and at Virginia Tech !

We had the opportunity to bring more students over to Radford City Fire/EMS to learn more about their operations! They have been so welcoming and we love working with them!

We've been super excited to be able to start assisting Virginia Tech Rescue Squad with the football games at Lane Stadium this semester! Thank you VTRS for welcoming our members and providing this awesome opportunity.

If you have a standby request for campus event at Radford University feel free to reach out or fill out our standby form!

RUEMS was proud to be able to offer medical standby services for the Radford Community Fest!
It was a great opportunity and our students were happy to be able to connect further with the community.

We are still accepting new members! RUEMS will be at Club Fair tomorrow from 2 pm to 5 pm. Hope to see you there!

Last week, a couple of our members got to attend the First Responder Symposium that was held in Blacksburg. This is a huge training opportunity and RUEMS was happy to be able to sponsor members and participate with multiple departments from all over Virginia and beyond!

The Virginia Association of First Responders held some amazing classes for multiple branches of first response including law enforcement officers, dispatchers, chaplains, and drone operators.

Our students got to participate in various courses such as EMS Officer I, Difficult Airway Management, Search and Rescue, and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care.

Huge thank you to Virginia Association of First Responders for coordinating this tremendous opportunity and to all the agencies who opened their doors to hundreds of first responders coming to learn!

Today marks Spring 2026 Commencement 🎓

We are immensely proud of all of our graduates and everything you’ve accomplished to get to this moment!

While you may not always see us, our team in the Emergency Operations Center, made up of university departments, state police, and security partners, is working behind the scenes to help ensure today runs safely and smoothly. It truly takes a full community to make a day like this possible and keep everyone on campus .

To our graduates, we’re sad to see you go, but you will always be a part of the Radford University family. We cannot wait to see the incredible things you accomplish next. Your hard work has paid off, now it’s time to celebrate it.

Go forth and do great things, and wherever you go, whatever you do, always stay ❤️

Rescue 9 staffed it's first official shift this semester! This is a fresh start for RUEMS with a new membership and access to some great resources with the help of Radford University and our Emergency Management Team. Currently we have 11 members, 7 of which are already certified at the EMT level (some higher), and 2 are currently in EMT classes.
We hope to be seen more around campus and look forward to welcoming new members! If you're interested send us a DM!
