Hillcrest Fire Department We operate with the best volunteers. Interested in volunteering to serve your community? We train, mentor, and perform our duties to the limits of our equipment.

Reach out here, stop by M-F (8-5) and get an application, OR stop by Monday nights at 7pm when we learn, train, and fellowship! It is our policy to respond to all situations whether Emergency or Non-Emergency, whether dispatched or verbal. We train to standard, not to time.

Last night, Hillcrest Fire Department partnered with Puppy Creek Fire Department for training focused on roof collapse scenarios.

This is the type of event we hope we never have to face, but the reality is that roof collapses can happen, and when they do, firefighters must be prepared to respond safely and effectively.

Training with our close mutual aid partners better prepares for the challenges we may encounter in the field.

Tonight, our firefighters had the opportunity to practice skills in an environment we don’t often get to train in. Thanks to the opportunity to use a building scheduled for demolition, our members were able to practice wall breaching and gain valuable hands-on experience in a realistic setting.

Training opportunities like this allow us to build confidence and better prepare for the challenges we may face in the field. We’re very grateful for this opportunity.

Last night, our firefighters focused on rural water operations.

When we respond to properties located far from a hydrant, or when an available hydrant cannot keep up with the water demand of a working fire, rural water operations become an invaluable skill.

Being able to establish, transport, and maintain an adequate water supply at the scene is critical to effective fire suppression. These skills take practice, teamwork, and coordination—and staying proficient helps ensure we are prepared when the water supply presents a challenge.
