🐾 BEAU’S LAW – PROTECTING ALABAMA’S DOGS 🐾

The Ragland Police Department wants our community to be aware of Beau’s Law, which goes into effect October 1, 2026. This law strengthens protections for dogs and establishes requirements for proper food, water, shelter, safe confinement, and tethering.

Dogs that are tethered must meet the law’s requirements, including the use of a safe tethered runner/trolley system when required. The law also prohibits certain unsafe tethering equipment and provides penalties for violations.

🐶 They depend on us. Know the law. Protect your pets.

We’re thankful to have such a great working relationship with their deputies and investigators. Working together, we can continue making our community a safer place to live, work, and raise a family.
