🎃❤️ PUMPKINS WITH A PURPOSE: SUPPORTING ONE OF OUR OWN ❤️🎃

Northern Wake Fire Department Part-Time Engineer Jermone King was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Jermone also serves his community full-time as a Captain with the Knightdale Fire Department.

This weekend, our fire service family is coming together to support Jermone and his family.

The Northern Wake Fire Department Auxiliary will be selling pumpkins at our pumpkin patch, and all proceeds raised Friday through Sunday will be donated to the King family.

We invite our community to come out, pick up a pumpkin, and help support Jermone and his family as they face the road ahead.

For those who may not be able to visit the pumpkin patch, a GoFundMe has also been established to help support Jermone and his family during this fight.

🚒 Firehouse #5 Update | October 2026

We’re excited to share another update on Northern Wake Firehouse #5, also known as the Sandy Plains Public Safety Station!

Construction continues to move forward, and we are currently anticipating that Northern Wake Fire Department could begin occupying the new station around the week of November 16th.

Our partners at Wake County have done a tremendous job bringing this facility together, and we sincerely appreciate all of the work that has gone into making this project a reality.

We’re looking forward to getting Firehouse #5 up and running and beginning the next chapter of service from the Sandy Plains community.

It’s not every day you pull a car out of the lake, but what was supposed to be a routine day of underwater drone training for the members of Engine 21 & 41 resulted in exactly that!

Thank you to our partners at Youngsville Dive Team to come out as the sun was setting to assist with the vehicle recovery operation.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation as to when this SUV ended up in the water.
