Catholic Parish Outreach Groceries available to whoever needs them every 30 days. CPO, a Catholic Charities program, is celebrating 43 years of serving the triangle community!

We provide emergency food assistance and, when possible, small children's clothing and baby items, such as formula and diapers. In fiscal year 2019
3.5 paid staff and
1,800 volunteers distributed
2,900,000+ pounds of groceries to residents of Wake, Franklin, and Johnston counties.

When we talk about practicing our faith through actions, we at CPO, think about Don and Carl. Together they have given 55 years of their time and talents to serving the hungry here at the food pantry. “The Bible frames volunteering and community service not as an optional chore, but as a core expression of faith, love for one's neighbor, and following the example of Jesus.”Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh

Creating produce bags is not easy task. Produce volunteers first glean, then sort and finally fill bags with an assortment of fruit and vegetables. Households of 5 or more receive two produce bags which means on a day where 150 households seek assistance these volunteers are assembling 200+ produce bags along with gleaning and sorting in a 3 hour period. Produce volunteers are ROCK STARS! Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh

The food pantry is officially prepared for the extra visitors prior to the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The request for help nearly doubles during these two holiday periods, so to prepare, 1,900 dry goods boxes were assembled. Our many thanks go out to the students of St Thomas More Academy and Cardinal Gibbons High School who came to the food pantry to lend a hand in getting the task completed. We appreciate your hard work and dedication. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh St. Thomas More Academy Cardinal Gibbons High School, Raleigh, NC

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." Is the unofficial motto for mail carriers, but it can also be the motto for the volunteers who deliver groceries to the clients’ cars. Rain, snow wind, heat, and freezing temperatures. They do it all with care and kindness.Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh

In 1977, Catholic Parish Outreach opened their doors; then in 2009 CPO decides to limit its services to food, pre-school clothing and maternity clothing to better serve the community. From the beginning, Jim and Diane have volunteered here at CPO completing all tasks set before them. Thank you, Jim and Diane for ongoing dedication to CPO’s mission. A community within the City of Raleigh reached out to CPO requesting help with Back-To-School supplies. CPO’s volunteers answered the call with a school supply donation drive. Volunteers are looking forward to delivering the supplies to the students, so they can “shop” for what is needed for a successful start of the school year.
