Unfortunately, we have to cancel tomorrow's drop-in baby at 10:30am.

Since this program doesn't require registration, please help spread the word so we don't have any disappointed darlings at the library Friday morning... we don't want to actually give babies something to cry about 😭

Heads up and Kanopy users - password requirements will go live tomorrow, Thurs. 10/8 🔑

Libby / Kanopy's parent company OverDrive recently announced a change to their authentication process, which will introduce a password requirement for both new and existing accounts. This password is the same as your library account password when logging onto BCCLS' website.

By default, these passwords are set to the last 4 digits of your library card. After 10/8, when prompted to verify your card, sign in with your full card number and password. After getting a success message, the app will STAY logged in - so you should only have to enter it in once.

Please note: Libby and Kanopy will ask to reverify your credentials if your library account expires or if you get a new card number. As always, if you have any questions or need help logging in, we're here to help 😇 give us a call at 201-327-1445 or stop by to ask the front desk.

The Friends are busy getting ready for their Fall Jewelry and , which kicks off this week!

Sales start tomorrow, Wednesday October 7th, at 5pm for Ramsey Library cardholders. Then on Thursday the 8th, the fair opens up to the entire public - here's a breakdown of the days & times:

Thursday, 10am to 6:30pm

Friday, 10am to 4:30pm

Saturday, 10:15am to 4:30pm

Sunday, 12pm to 2pm

This is a great opportunity to give back to your community and the world 🌎 as a reminder, all proceeds will go directly back into local library collections, services and events. Plus, after the sale, the Friends of Ramsey Library receive packing boxes from Wade Odell Wade Moving Company and work with Shipping to Kenya (Titan Impex llc) to distribute any unsold books throughout Kenya 🇰🇪

So buy a book (or two... or three... or maybe even four 🤷) to support your friends at RFPL!

It's , y'all 🚫📚 celebrate by checking out a "taboo" title!

Banned Books Week is an annual event that highlights the value of free and open access to information by bringing together the entire book community. By focusing on efforts across the country to remove or restrict access to books, Banned Books Week draws national attention to the harms of censorship. By the numbers, 4,235 unique titles were challenged in 2025 according to the ALA's Office for Intellectual Freedom.

You can read more about this and the top 11 most challenged books of last year here:
