Feeding Cleburne Our distributions take place every 3rd Saturday of each month. Feeding Cleburne’s vision is that no one goes to bed hungry in Cleburne County.

Feeding Cleburne was birthed out of a desire to meet the needs of those who are less fortunate than others, whether it is due to sickness, loss of income, or just having a difficult time providing for their families. Cleburne County is a rural area and the county’s poverty rate in December of 2015 was 18.4% and factored with the unemployment rate, many families do not have enough food to feed their families each month, week, and sometimes on a daily basis. Originally Feeding Cleburne was teamed up with Reaching Out International, an organization that helps feeds those in need. In November 2015, Feeding Cleburne qualified as a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. We now purchase the food each month directly from the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama, in Birmingham, and distribute the food to local families in need through a food distribution held in Ranburne, Alabama the third Saturday of each month. It is our desire to help as many people as we can in the county. Presently we have a core group of churches and individuals that donate monthly to purchase the food that is given out in the food distribution. To reach more people, we naturally need more funding. Whether it is a one-time donation, or a monthly commitment, we ask that you prayerfully consider donating to Feeding Cleburne. Again, we are a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization and donations are tax deductible for you or your business. In short, the mission statement for Feeding Cleburne could be wrapped up in a single proclamation: To feed the hungry in Cleburne County.

Earlier this year, the plant in Heflin organized a cereal drive for Feeding Cleburne. The generous employees of the plant donated over 400 boxes of cereal to be given out with our monthly distribution. This meant that over 400 families received a box of cereal they may not have otherwise gotten.

We are grateful for Southwire’s ongoing support of our mission. Their Project Gift team comes to Ranburne each month to assist in packing over 500 bags of food to be given out at our three distribution sites on the 3rd Saturday of the month. We could not do this without their help.

Thank you, Southwire, for all you and your employees do to assist us in providing food for those in need in our community.
