In support of our recent grant from the California Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC), the RCPD POP team conducted a decoy “shoulder tap” operation to enforce liquor laws within our community.
🌟
The goal of these operations is to deter establishments and citizens from selling and/or providing minors with alcohol. These types of operations help keep our community, youth, and businesses safe, and keep our city operating effectively and efficiently by ensuring adherence to California Business & Professions codes!

Recently, RCPD officers were dispatched to a report of a male subject walking around a neighborhood with a firearm. The subject was said to be acting erratically and waving what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun in the air. At one point, the subject pointed the firearm at the victim, who then called 911 to report the incident.
🌟
RCPD personnel arrived on scene and through interviews with the victim, they were able to determine who the possible subject was, and where he lived. Officers began travelling to the residence when the subject left the scene in a vehicle driven by his father. RCPD officers located and stopped the truck, and were able to safely detain the driver and the involved subject without incident. The father was determined to have no involvement and was released.
🌟
A search warrant was prepared, approved, and served at the residence at which time officers located the firearm in question - a replica Sig Sauer semi-automatic pellet gun and holster. The replica firearm was booked as evidence and the subject was positively identified by the victim and booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail.
🌟
RCPD was very fortunate to have such good information from the victim, and a rapid response to the area to ensure the subject in this matter was not able to create any further incidents in our community!
