On May 28, over 40 District staff members participated in an impactful Active Shooter Response Training led by Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

This hands-on training provided valuable tools, strategies and situational awareness to help our team stay prepared and respond effectively in emergency situations. The safety of our community, participants and staff is always our top priority, and opportunities like this ensure we’re ready to act when it matters most.

A big thank you to our Deputy instructors from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department for their expertise, professionalism and commitment to keeping our community safe.

We’re proud to share that our District received multiple honors at the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts (CARPD) Annual Conference last week!

The District was awarded the Outstanding Special Event Award for Cupcake's Community Memorial! This award honors outstanding and unique achievements in the planning, development and implementation of a District activity or special event.

Additionally, the District was presented with the CAPRI District Safety Award (formerly the Ted Winslow Safety Award). We are proud to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to maintaining safe, welcoming spaces for our community.

Brian Danzl and Rick Sloan, members of the District's own Board of Directors, were also re-elected to the CARPD Board of Directors.

Thank you to our staff, Board Members and community for helping make these achievements possible!

Although National Tennis Month has come to a close, we're still celebrating the impact of tennis in our community! 🎾

At our May Board of Directors meeting, we were honored to welcome Junior Tennis Fund Sacramento, who presented the District with a generous grant award to help support our community’s tennis programs.

We’re grateful for their continued support and commitment to providing more opportunities for all.
