Call Directions

Lincoln's Challenge Academy LCA is a cost-free life skills and education program for Illinois youth 15 1/2 to 18 years of age. The academy is a voluntary program.

Cadets have the opportunity to earn their GED or recover credits. They learn positive habits and develop life skills necessary to be successful, and responsible citizens. LCA uses a holistic approach to help Cadets become responsible and productive members of their communities. Cadets learn positive values and skills to use in everyday life. Cadets are not court-ordered or placed in the program. It is a choice they make to change the trajectory of their lives. Today, we recognize the educators who do more than teach lessons. They inspire, encourage, challenge, and help shape the future.

We also proudly recognize our LCA graduates who have gone on to become teachers, carrying forward the impact of those who once believed in them.

To every teacher and educator who makes a difference: Thank you for helping others learn, grow, and believe in what’s possible.

LCA recently held its final scheduled Mentor Training for Class 67. We appreciate every volunteer who has stepped forward to support our cadets.

Mentors provide guidance, encouragement, accountability, and support as cadets work toward their goals.

Working hard matters. Having courage matters. But knowing why you’re working and where you’re going can make all the difference.

Every challenge is an opportunity to learn, grow, and take another step toward their future.

Find your purpose. Set your direction. Put in the effort. Keep moving forward.
