Yesterday marked the end of our first quarter—and what better way to kick off today than by celebrating the incredible reading achievements of our students!
This year, we're shaking things up with our AR program in an exciting way. We challenged our 3rd–6th graders to explore different genres by reading three books: one graphic novel, one realistic fiction book, and one mystery. Students who completed this genre challenge hit their AR goal for the quarter and earned a special reward!
Every student who met their goal received a blue ticket to vote for one of six brave teachers and staff members willing to participate in our pie-throwing finale. The top reader from each grade level got the honor of launching pies at the chosen target!
It was an incredibly close competition, but Mrs. Mingus claimed the title of "winning" teacher!
Huge congratulations to every student who crushed their reading goals this quarter! Your hard work and enthusiasm made this celebration possible.
