Last week, I had the opportunity to take an updated tour of Port Mansfield and reflect on the progress we’ve made over the past eight years. It’s encouraging to see how far we’ve come, and even more exciting to think about what lies ahead!

Throughout my time serving on the Willacy County Navigation District Board, I’ve learned so much and gained an even greater appreciation for what our port means to our community. Port Mansfield truly is a treasure for Willacy County, and I believe it has so much potential for the future.

With new leadership at port, continued infrastructure improvements, and a focus on responsible growth, I’m excited about the direction we’re heading.

One of my personal visions for the future is to see more opportunities for welcoming waterfront spaces where families can gather, and areas where residents and visitors can shop, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife that make Port Mansfield so special.

I believe we can encourage economic growth while preserving the charm, character, and fishing heritage that make our port unique.

As I look forward to another term serving on the Navigation District Board, my commitment remains the same: improving our infrastructure, exploring new opportunities, and helping build a stronger future for our Port and all of Willacy County.

There’s still much work ahead, but I’m proud of the progress we’ve made and excited about the possibilities!

Moving forward while preserving what makes Port Mansfield special.

Yesterday marked the close of the filing period for the Willacy County Navigation District Commissioner election, and I am grateful to share that I will be running unopposed for another term representing WCND Precinct 2.

As I’ve reflected on what that means, more than anything, I feel grateful.

Willacy/Raymondville is home. I was raised here, my family is here, and I care deeply about what happens here. When I first decided to run for this position, the goal was to bring greater awareness and transparency to the Navigation District, make sure the taxpayers of our district had a voice, and help protect and strengthen our port for future generations.

From the beginning of this journey, I have felt that God’s hand was in it and that He had a purpose for placing me here. I have carried that faith with me throughout my time as commissioner, trusting Him to guide me along the way.

Serving as your commissioner has taught me a great deal. I’ve asked questions, spoken up when I believed something needed to be said, and tried to make every decision based on what I believe is best for the people I represent, even when those decisions weren’t always the easiest ones.

There is still much to accomplish. I believe we can continue moving our port forward, pursue responsible growth, protect what makes it special, and make decisions that serve both the residents of Port Mansfield and the future of Willacy County.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, called me with concerns, shared ideas, asked questions, and trusted me to represent you. I will continue to listen, ask questions, speak up, and put the people I represent first.

It truly is an honor to serve the place I call home.

Support Our Port. Support Our Future.
