Our students received a special visit from our dedicated campus bus drivers and Mr. Ambriz who teamed up to deliver an important presentation on general school bus safety. We greatly appreciate them taking the time to present to our students, share their expertise, and help keep our campus community safe! Thank you for everything they do for our students!

🐣 Little Chicks, Big Learning Adventures!

LC Smith Elementary ACE Afterschool Program
Excitement was chirping throughout LC Smith Elementary as our ACE students experienced the wonders of life through a special baby chick hatching and breeding project! 🐥💛
Through this hands-on learning experience, students had the opportunity to observe baby chicks, learn about their life cycle, and discover the importance of caring for living animals. From understanding how chicks develop and hatch to gently holding these tiny bundles of joy, our students explored science in a fun, meaningful, and memorable way.
Adding to the excitement, our LC Smith Elementary Principal joined the students in this special experience, sharing in their curiosity, smiles, and enthusiasm as they welcomed their adorable feathered friends!
This engaging activity provided more than just an opportunity to meet baby chicks. It encouraged responsibility, compassion, teamwork, curiosity, and an appreciation for agriculture and animal science.
At LC Smith Elementary, our ACE Afterschool Program continues to create meaningful educational experiences that extend learning beyond the traditional classroom.
Because at ACE, even the smallest chicks can inspire the BIGGEST learning adventures! 🐣🌟

📢 EARLY RELEASE REMINDER | RECORDATORIO DE SALIDA TEMPRANA

Raymondville ISD students will have an early release on Friday, October 16, 2026. Teachers and staff will have a half day of instructional planning.

Student Release Times:

🏫 L.C. Smith & Pittman Elementary — 1:00 p.m.
🏫 Raymondville Options Academic Academy — 1:10 p.m.
🏫 Myra Green Middle School — 1:20 p.m.
🏫 RECHS — 1:30 p.m.

Please make the necessary arrangements for your child. RISD buses will run their regular routes at the designated early-release times.

Our LC Smith Elementary ACE Kindergarten Crafting & Learning students are celebrating the fall season with creativity, color, and lots of smiles!
Through this fun pumpkin painting activity, our little artists are developing fine motor skills, exploring colors, practicing hand-eye coordination, and building confidence while expressing their creativity.
At ACE, we believe learning goes beyond the classroom! Every brushstroke is an opportunity to learn, grow, and shine. 🌟

💜 L.C. Smith NEHS: Vigil for Hope 💜
L.C. Smith National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) officers, accompanied by their sponsors, Mrs. Zamorano and Mrs. Richmond, were honored to participate in the Vigil for Hope, hosted by the Raymondville Police Department in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Together, we stood in remembrance of lives lost, in support of survivors, and in solidarity with those affected by domestic violence. Our students proudly represented the values of leadership, service, and compassion while supporting this meaningful community initiative.

💜 Together, we can break the silence and build hope.
