Drive on over to Rayne along the Old Spanish Trail (Hwy 90) to see this nostalgic look at how an Acadia Parish retailer created their brand and built their business selling everything from accordions, fine clothing, shoes, and equipment to coffins! Yes, it’s true. People traveled from as far away as Houston and New Orleans to buy what they needed back in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.The business closed its doors in the 1980s and is now a beautifully restored event venue for weddings and special events.
To conclude a remarkable year of Rendezvous Downtown 2025 events, we are proud to present a special screening of Rayne Maker The Mervine Kahn Legacy, a tribute to the founder whose vision brought our downtown to life all those years ago!!!
When: November 8th at 2 PM
Where: The Bank at Mervine Kahn Crossing
Price: $10 Per Person
